The Home
The retreat home is located on a beautiful peninsula, about 30 minutes from Gothenburg airport. It’s a Swedish-typical red wooden cottage, it’s quiet, it’s peaceful, surrounded by the forest and right by the lake so that we can have outdoor dinners in the forest with lake view, take cold lake baths from our private beach, and hop into the sauna. The interior is classic vintage-Swedish style. There’s a big hill behind the cottage that belongs to the property - perfect for morning walks overlooking the lake.
In addition to the regular rooms, there are 2 van/camper spots with lake view available if you prefer to travel with and sleep in your own van.

Hiking & foraging chanterelles and funnel chanterelles in the forest & learning how to preserve them (of course you’ll take some home with you)
Kayaking & S’mores grilling on a lonely island
Sauna & cold lake baths
Fermentation workshop & taste testing different Korean, Japanese and homemade ferments - you’ll take 3 ferments home with you. One Korean “Cheong”, one savoury lacto-ferment and a japanese fermented condiment.
Cooking over the fire (Workshop)
Making Ikebanas (you’ll get your own flower frog/kenzan to take home)
Free time - time to relax by the lake, read a book in a hammock (if it’s not too chilly), hike on the hill behind the cottage, connect with the others, chill by the fireplace in the cottage
& of course, indulging in the food: Swedish Fika (coffee & sweet snacks), breakfasts, lunches, aperitivos and dinners (in the garden, if the weather allows)
Activities

The Food
All of the meals will be vegetarian, and mostly made from local products - we work together with local farmers to bring the freshest and seasonal ingredients to the table. You can expect cozy Farm2Table dinners, Swedish Fika, as well as food we will cook outdoors together over the fire. Think of a mix between modern scandi cuisine, shared plates and some asian inspired dishes. There will be a 3-course welcome dinner (saffron, yuzu & ferments themed) accompanied by an alcohol-free drink pairing from HVONN.
We won’t be serving alcohol but delicious mocktails/aperitivos, local alcohol-free drinks and homemade ice teas.
During the fermentation workshop there will be a taste test for different ferments.
Please let us know of any allergies or special diets in advance so that we can accommodate all of them! Our private chef can accommodate all wishes (e.g. vegan, gluten free etc.)
